I honestly believe that is during this scene right after Tony gets upset with Harley after Harley broke off Iron Man’s finger; he sees a younger version of himself.
We know that Howard said Tony was his greatest creation, but Tony didn’t find out until much later from a video reel after his father died. Tony never heard his father personally say that to him, and whenever Tony broke something or did something wrong, he was accused and yelled at; we saw that in Iron Man 2 during the takes of Howard’s Stark Expo monologue. Tony was doing the same thing with Harley, and realizing this he pretty much apologizes to Harley when he tells the kid not to worry and that he will fix it. Because it wasn’t really Harley’s fault that his suit wasn’t in the best condition to begin with in the first place. Also Tony wants to be a greater man that his father because Howard was correct in saying that Tony was his greatest creation because Tony would be a great dad someday, and we see that with him and Harley. Anyway that is my thought on this whole scene.
